Individual Healthcare providers: We train various healthcare and birth professionals, including physicians, nurses, midwives, doulas, therapists, counselors, lactation consultants, social workers, and community health workers.
Institutions and organizations: We provide education and workshops for large institutions, such as hospitals, clinics, and community health organizations, to ensure perinatal mental health is prioritized throughout every step of care.

Multi-Disciplinary Consultation Group Membership
Join our virtual consultation groups, designed to support mental health professionals, healthcare providers, birthworkers, and others working with perinatal clients. Led by a Perinatal Mental Health expert, these sessions offer a collaborative space to tackle challenging cases, share experiences, and gain valuable insights to enhance your care.
With a yearly membership, you’ll have access to monthly one-hour sessions, exclusive discounts on additional training opportunities, and actionable strategies to elevate your perinatal mental health practice.
Online courses
Explore our flexible, self-paced online learning options. Our 12-hour CE course, Bringing Light to Motherhood, meets the PSI Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) requirement for basic training. Additionally, we offer shorter 2-hour CE modules covering various essential topics, from how to screen for perinatal mental health conditions to exploring intersectionality in care.
These courses allow you to deepen your expertise, earn CE credits, and advance your practice at your own pace.
CE Co-Sponsorship
Maternal Mental Health NOW co-sponsors live and asynchronous CE training activities aligned with our mission. We work closely with organizations to customize training opportunities that meet your unique needs while maintaining the highest standards.
To apply for CE co-sponsorship, submit a request form and accompanying materials at least eight weeks before your planned training date. Applications are reviewed to ensure alignment with the American Psychological Association (APA) and MMHN standards. A non-refundable application fee is required, and organizations will receive feedback or approval within 14 business days.

Case Study 1: Enhancing Hospital Perinatal Care (2020-2021)
MMHN partnered with the Hospital Quality Institute’s Perinatal Mental Health Learning Collaborative to enhance perinatal mental health care across California hospitals.
Key Activities:
- Created online trainings on Perinatal Mental Health: What to Know and How to Screen in the Hospital Setting.
- Hosted monthly webinars, office hours, and individualized technical assistance.
- Developed the Emotional Wellness Self-Help Tool and customizable psycho-educational brochures.
- Culminated in an online event with comprehensive resources.
Impact: Provided over 120 birthing hospitals with crucial education and tools to improve mental health care.
Case Study 2: Improving Screening in CommonSpirit Health (2018-2021)
MMHN partnered with CommonSpirit Health to enhance perinatal mental health care through education, curriculum development, and individualized coaching across multiple facilities.
Key Activities:
- Delivered 1.5-day trainings on perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, including patient education, screening, and intervention.
- Offered specialized training sessions for MDs, RNs, MSWs, LMFTs, psychologists, and allied staff.
- Conducted 3-hour psychopharmacology training for prescribers at nine hospitals across California, Nevada, and Arizona.
Impact: Increased perinatal mental health screening rates from 80% to 97.9%, improving early identification and care.
Case Study 3: Enhancing Care With Providence Health System (2019-2021)
MMHN partnered with Providence Health System to improve care for patients screening positive for perinatal mental health disorders.
Key Activities:
- Supported participating hospitals in enhancing practices for perinatal mental health.
- Introduced a warmline providing psychoeducation and care navigation for patients in need.
Impact: Providers’ comfort level with screening patients for perinatal mental health disorders increased, and patients’ response and support through the warmline initiative improved.
